The author clearly states that, for men, age carries a weight of about 39% in the age of the Russian bride he is in a relationship with. Do the calculation for yourself. He is right!
He does not speculate upon any other reasons why men seek a wife because he does not have the data. There is no 'wiggle room'.
Of course he is talking about a tendency because it is not the sole criterion of choice. Given its weight though it is a very significant one.
When a writer is using data to reach a conclusion then of course it is based upon the data. What else would it be based upon?
Given the data he made a simple statistical analysis and drew safe conclusions based upon that analysis. That is tends to bear out what we know from observation simply supports his findings.
If a guy is seeking a woman much younger than himself then he is seeking a woman much younger than himslef... it is simple. The report draws no conclusions as to motivations. You are doing that all by yourself!

Everybody here who has commented on this report seems to draw conclusions as to motivations. Andrew, I almost swear you put it up for us to draw conclusions. If somebody were to read this report, they will conclude that most guys as they get older want to rob the cradle!
If the author of that report wants to make clear statements, then he should not use so many wiggle room words to make his analysis safe. I think he chose those wiggle room words on purpose so he would not insult people and protect the integrity of his report by not making so many absolute statements. By doing this he can still get his message out effectively to show how many perverted men there is in the world. OK, maybe not that message but you get the point on why people produce polls, studies, and stats, they could have an agenda or the people who funded their research could have an agenda. Have you heard the one study that says red wine is heathier than other wines? Guess who funded that study! The makers of red wine. How about the poll that says people choose Pepsi over Coke 2 to 1? Do you feel like you want to buy a Pepsi to be like the majority or buy red wine to get healthy?
There is many studies that show how terrible the pollution is and the terrible things we eat and all this bad stuff that is killing us and then there is the study that says we are living longer than our parents.
That study you provided us more vague than you think.
It is not what this author thinks about his report, it about how people read it and interpret it and people draw conclusions as to the motivations of the average man as he gets older and the conclusion of those motivations stinks.

If your major criteria is their maturity why did you not limit your search to women aged 30-36 or older and choose to write to women in their twenties and even to a 18-year old? Yes, I remember that you have written to a 39-year old too.
Re: research - it is DESCRIPTIVE statistical report. He observed the tendency in the sample of 189 men I think and reported it: as men get older they start seeking much younger women. He never said it is true in 100% of cases. He never tried to find the reasons WHY it happens. My guess is that they want a young body. Your guess is that they want a mature woman but a young one. Don't make me laugh.
Again, I can see nothing wrong with men's desire to have a younger wife. I think it is natural for men. But then again, you guys should remember that the majority of young women do NOT find older guys sexually attractive and their motives are different from yours.
