I'm new here also and there are probably quite a few people on here that can answer this Russian Bride question better than I can. Watch out for Helen13, though. She's a little fiesty.
Granted, everyone is an individual and that should be taken into account as well. From what I can gather, Ukrainian women tend to be a little more outgoing, while Russian women are a little more reserved. I guess it depends on which one you prefer. Also, I think Russian women are more likely to be urban dwellers compared to Ukrainian girls. I think as a whole, they are more comfortable living in a large metropolitan area versus a small to medium sized market or in the suburbs. Also, it should be noted that it is easier to travel to Ukraine than Russia because Americans do not require a special visa to travel there, unlike Russia. The difference in the political climates of the 2 countries should be noted as well. In Ukraine, it appears that Yuschenko is attempting to build stronger ties with the West. His wife is an American and he is openly courting western investment in his country. I can't say the same for Russia as they seem to fear western influence in their country.
I took all of this into consideration a few weeks ago and decided to focus my search to Ukraine as a result. I know people have had success on this board with women from both countries and there have been failures with women from both countries. I would suggest that you do as much reading as possible, both here and other places on the net. This site has a lot of nice people on it that have some very helpful advice.

I don't think so. You see, one person is different from another, you might blame it on them being Ukrainian or Russian - and you might be right or wrong. "My Russian wife does this." - "Oh, my Ukrainian wife never does that!" - "Must be because she's Ukrainian." - "Must be because she's Russian." The reality? Hard to say. Could be just personality / background / education, etc. differences.
As to the way Russians and Ukrainians view each other, it is a weird love-hate relationship that has been going on for years and years. They live side by side, intermarry, and yet they kinda dislike each other. They are very close in language and culture, yet they insist on being different - better, in fact. Ukrainians are convinced they are better than Russians. Russians are convinced they are better than Ukrainians. They mock each other accents. They have jokes about each other, not always harmless. It's complicated... :)

Wow, it sounds a lot like the relationships some people here in the states have with people from different states. In Colorado, they don't like Californians and Texans. In Texas, they make fun of the Okies. In Nevada, they don't like the Californians either. People in Oregon don't seem to care much for them at all. People in Utah and Wyoming don't like each other at all. People in Florida and Georgia also like to make fun of people from the other state and I've also noticed some animosity between people from Illinois and Iowa. It is also somewhat regionalized. People from the north generally consider Southerners to be stupid, and the people down south don't particularly care for Yankees. In the western interior, they generally don't trust Californians and those big city boys from back east, while people in the east generally think anybody living west of the Mississippi river is either an inbred or somebody that has been relocated by the witness protection program. I guess some things are universal.
