RUSSIAN BRIDES - Wrote my 1st letter

My motivation for writing this is to show Russian brides newbies how it can work, to predict an outcome which will show how the opinions of some men are way out of line (I already have 47 references of the idiotic opinions stored in a file, but will hold back for now and not post those references). I may or may not post those references in a follow-up post later in the year. I feel kinda bad making those smart people look stupid. Sept - Wrote my 1st letter After much correspondence including letters and phones calls I visited her in 2004 Jan. Jan - Proposed on the 4th day with her (2nd Best decision in my life) Stayed 1 week, visited her family and friends. I stayed in a hotel. Mar - Visited my fiancee. Stayed at her flat. Visited friends and family and relaxed. July - Went to Moscow for approval of marriage. Flew to her city and spent the week preparing for marriage after visiting ZAGS. What a great wedding it was. Aug - Contacted an attorney to file for K3. Decided to wait until my next trip for signatures and the necessary documentation. Should have contacted the attorney before I got married but was misled on Russian marriages by the ficticious stuff from the U.S. Embassy. Nov - Visted again...dang I'm feeling married now..pretty much the same thing except she just keeps getting better. Mar - Visited again. Words cannot explain how wonderful my wife is. Other information: 1) Talk everyday on the phone. 2) Send SMS everyday. 3) Continue to exchange letters but at a much slower rate than the beginning. We talk to each other everyday and pretty much say what we need. 4) My mom and wife exchange letters. 5) I have no idea how my wife is going to respond to the cultural change. That's the small percentage of doubt I have. But, a couple who have been married for 11-years (FSU/AM) want to meet us at the airport on our arrival. Did I mention that 11 years is double to the maximum marriage on this board. But I forgot, he did this when the internet was not freely available like it is today. I think my wife will respond ok, with the things I don't expect, causing me to exercise patience and understanding. I could make another trip but I'm waiting on the approval to bring her back, but will visit again soon if the approval gets messed up. Yep, this is the 1st in a short series, maximum 3 posts, the next post coming after my wife arrives, to show the newbies that it is possible. ***************************************************** Single guy = unmarried man; never married. Married man = currently married; could be many times. Divorced man = currently divorced; could be many times. I think most of the men who provide advice are divorced men, not "single guys." Why? Well, most of the men involved or interested in this process are (a) not currently married, (b) have been previously married, and (c) are now divorced. (They could be widowed, but that's not likely.) So, you are getting advice from men who have had failed marriages, probably because they want others not to have failed marriages. Good luck! We all hope you will soon be giving advice to others on this site as a happily married man who is living with his wife in America.
