A golf analogy - I have played golf for years. Not a great player, but okay (10-12 handicap). The game has many variables: wind, stance, pin position, speed and contour of greens, etc. How one evaluates the many variables is termed "course management". I have seen every possible situation 100 times. Even though I have this experience and a minute or so to consider my options, I frequently will make the wrong decision. So how can I confine the selection of my wife to one minute of blinking?

Being old fashioned, I think [b:68f134ca1d]love takes time for which there is no substitute. [/b:68f134ca1d] In golf, even when making the correct decision, I frequently fail to execute. The same in love, and forgiveness when one of us "fails to execute" has meant a great deal in building our relationship.
Many of you working stiffs don't have the time I do, so the "one minute manager" (remember those books) is your option. Many OWWs have been successful, which says something about quick decisions but more about your maturity to make things work, plus sheer luck in selecting a good-hearted woman.

I don't think your golf analogy works in this case because your course management usually conflicts with your instincts. Your instincts tell you to put the ball in the cup, but good course management dictates that the smarter shot is to put the ball 5 feet to the left and 5 feet short.

Bill, the idea of this powerful processor is one of the things I was getting at in my Russian brides post upthread. Yet, I still maintain that garbage in= garbage out. If you have little experience to make that snap decision, your results will probably follow accordingly.
Or, maybe not. I still maintain that there is little difference in success rate between those who are OWW and those who are not.
My own opinion is more along the lines of something Mark posted quite a while back. I'm way too lazy to dig it up, but essentially it is more about your committment to marriage than anything else. I believe that to be true. [b:1c70b6773f]I think two strangers dedicated to a successful marriage have a better chance than two people who date for years (or make a dozen visits) but don't have the same level of committment.[/b:1c70b6773f] I say that with the understanding that marriage in general (in today's divorce culture) has a smaller chance of success than ever in history.
So, [b:1c70b6773f]IMO[/b:1c70b6773f], whatever your method is, ESP, smelly bums, subconscious processing, tight dresses and pouty lips, you probably have just as good a chance as anyone else if you're both committed to making it work.
